Tootin' Our Laser
We don't like to brag, but it's tough not to in a case like this. This is a wonderful pen-shaped laser pointer, 5-1/4" long, flat black or silver with gold pocket clip and head. It throws a red point a loong way (we've thrown it two city blocks at night, and it would've gone farther, but buildings got in the way). And what are we so proud of? We've seen a very similar item-not identical, mind you, but essentially the same-in one of those glossy, toys-for-grown-men catalogs. Their price? $20! Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

The Ultra (Violet) Pocket Light
Our pocket-sized mini-flashlight has (8) ultraviolet LEDs and myriad uses, from checking for counterfeit U.S. currency to working the door at hip downtown clubs, spotting radiator and transmission fluid leaks, mineral identification, and (yes, it's true) finding scorpions in the dark. Measures 3-7/8" long x 1-1/8" hexagon, and comes with (3) "AAA" batteries for power and a canvas carrying case with a belt loop. You supply the scorpions.

A Little Lightning
Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

A Snarl of Magnet Wire
One of those sharpie East Coast outfits pulled a fast one on this poor naive Midwestern dealer. The result is we have a pile of exotic coated copper magnet wire. The coatings and colors vary widely, as does the gauge of the wire. With a couple of exceptions there isn't enough of any one kind among the hundreds in the pile to list separately. So we are offering an assortment and you get whatever we grab. Either way you will get a terrific value, particularly if you have an exotic application and get just what you need. Even if you are just making a garden variety coil or electromagnet you will still find the prices are very good. So go ahead, profit from our misfortune. We are glad to be of service. Sigh.

Stop! Stop right here. Buy these lightly used takeout LED lights from stoplights. You'll need them if you ever want people to stop and listen to you. The small stoplight light is, duh, red and 7-1/4" dia x 3-3/16" at its thickest (tilted slightly downward but it's round, so it's actually tilted whichever way you want). Draws 5W at 120VAC. The big stoplight light is also, surprise, red and also tilted but also round, 10-3/4" dia x 4-3/16" at the thickest. Draws 10W at 120 VAC. Both are lit by LEDs, have plastic housings, and should have rubber gaskets around the edges.

Don't Move!
Or the light will come on! Now your hallways at home can be just like a European hotel with our motion-sensitive LED light. No plug necessary, since it runs on (3) "AA" batteries (not included because we can't do everything, after all). Mounts via a 1/4" keyed screw hole, but double-sided tape would also work. Measures 2-3/8" sq x 1-1/2" thick and has (10) white LEDs in a white plastic housing. Lights up with motion approx 4 feet away.
