WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.
Perennially popular in the stores, the Martian Popper Thing is virtually useless. It is a rather clown-like figure molded from the waist up. About 4-1/2" tall, it is made of air filled latex, sort of like a heavy balloon. Squeeze the orange body and the blue eyes and red ears and nose pop out in a very satisfying manner. Definitely approved as a method for expressing your mood when you desperately want to choke the @!&*! out of someone. Infinitely reusable. Which is a must for most of us!!!

Light emitting diodes. Solid state devices that provide the ubiquitous power and indicator lights on your electronic gadgetry. Unlike lamps, there are no filaments that glow. Rather, some two volts of DC power at a miniscule 10 to 20 milliamps of current get the chemistry excited, and they just plain emit. Emit is a good word, too, as they don't really cast light, but glow brightly. We have a nice assortment of 3 and 5 MM diameter sizes in red, green, orange, and yellow. The longer lead is always positive, the shorter always negative, and you always need a current limiting resistor (about 500 to 1,000 ohms for 5 to 9 volt DC sources) to keep the current in the 10-20 MA range. If that's Greek to you you're either going to blow a lot of LED's or learn to change incandescent indicator lamps ! !

Stick the dull, but leaded end of your wooden pencil into the left nostril of this nose and twist clockwise. You will be rewarded with a shiny sharp point on the pencil and a curl of shavings on your desk, lap or floor. Pretty good performance for a life sized, flesh colored piece of hard plastic!! If you want to sharpen things up around the office or home, send for the following item, and prove you have a nose for great deals!!

The dominant colors may be yellow, blue, red or white, our choice. Very cool absolutely useless kite-like thing consisting of a central 19" dia disc and (2) 9 ft. "tails" one emerging from each side of the central disc. The disc is actually a metal hoop. It is covered with a very light, strong non-woven fibrous material that is translucent and extremely porous, allowing water to pass right through it. The tails are made of this same material. We have been told it is some kind of drogue for a chute used with a depth charge. We are also told it was used under water. We surmise it is an underwater drogue used to deploy a detector antenna. But it may just be a toy for Merkids. We think you will find it amusing, and may wish to chop it up and use the cool fabric in your own construction. White or olive drab, our choice.

Never seemed fair to nail the "lazy" tag so permanently on the "Susans" but that probably has no "bearing" on the issue. Also called turntable bearings, they are the square, flat ball bearing devices YOU bolt between two flat objects to achieve rotation. Like that spinning center section of a Chinese restaurant table. We had these in surplus once and they were quite popular. To our chagrin, we discovered they could be bought commercially for the same price. So we did. The 4" version is rated for a 300lb. load, the 6" for 500lbs., and the 12" (round) for 1000lbs.
