Self-Adhesive Donut
A two-layer foam ring with a sticky side, 4-3/4" OD, 1-1/4" ID, 3-3/16" thick. If the stickum is the bottom, the middle layer is dense black foam and the top is squooshy yellowish foam. Originally part of a hose attachment system, these things might make good bumpers to protect your head and the brick wall from damaging each other when it's pounding time.

Letter To The Editor
Sir: It is indeed a shame what our country has come to. I refer to these foam gaskets I recently purchased. They are black, 1-1/2" OD x 1" ID x 3/16" thick, very dense and spongy. I have found them to be excellent vibration dampeners in various mechanical devices in my home and shop. But why did they cost me so little? This low price is an outrage that I worry could lessen the value placed on these fine products by the youth of today. The city council should investigate this matter. -name withheld

Ridgid Wrap
For papier mache modeling, of course. You get a 4"wide x 180" long roll of plaster-coated cloth, wet it, wrap it, and dry it until it's rigid. Finish it with paint or shellac or whatever. "Takes all finishes" the package trumpets. And it's non-toxic, so don't be bashful about rigid-wrapping yourself.

Getting Along
Another way to protect floors of all types from the painful scars of furniture scratching. These pads are dense brown felt, 6" x 1/2" x 1/4" thick, with adhesive on the back. Sure, when it comes to optical precision, glass is king. But in other categories (price!), plastic is definitely heir to the throne. If you're not looking for precision, but just for some funky lenses for your art project, model or for messing around with light, these 20mm dia PCV lenses will work royally. 6.6mm thick, clear plastic with a -60mm focal length. With (2) 1/8" dia mounting nubs on the side, they should file right off if you don't like them. So let the bluebloods waste their bread on glass, you've got plastic.

Placebo Lens
Please don't pop these little glass DCX beauties in your mouth. Sure, they're shaped like zinc tablets or miniature communion wafers - thin, 14mm dia - but they'll do you no good inside, probably even cause you harm. Instead, utilize their 48.3mm focal lengths for all classroom projects, or combine these with other lenses to build binoculars, magnifiers, microscopes and telescopes.

Hose Gaskets
Get a whole bunch of these: they'll fit perfectly in your garden hose. Black rubber gaskets are 1/8" thick, 1-1/16" OD, 3/4" ID. Or try them for model wheels, art projects, or really cheap (and ugly!) wedding bands.

Rubber Stopper
Pat's been hanging around the medical supply house again. We now have a boatload of rubber stoppers, the kind you see on bottles of liquid medicine, crimped down with an aluminum collar. (Pat didn’t buy the aluminum collars.) The medicine is removed via a hypodermic needle through the stopper. The rubber stoppers come in blue or gray They are 3/4” across the top, 5/16” top to bottom, and fits a 1/2” (13 mm) dia opening. Why would you want them? Because they'll fit many of the small wide-mouth and slope-shouldered bottles in our Bottlemania listing. Pat's really good!
