The Paragon is an inspection and dissection binocular microscope. The manufacturer says it’s “perfect for industrial, agricultural, biological and educational uses.” While it’s not for the tiniest microbes, of course, this is the microscope you want for quality–control inspection, insect identification, etc. The Paragon is sturdy, easy to use, and has an acid– and reagent–resistant finish. The 95mm dia stage plate reverses from white to black for contrast, and the rack and pinion pole mount lets you view samples up to 17 cm in height. The binocular head is inclined for comfortable viewing, and rotates 360°. Wide field 10X eyepieces adjust to 55–75mm interpupillary distance. 1X and 3X objectives are turret-mounted. With the 1X objective, you get a 19mm field of view, with the 3X, a 9.5mm field. In either case the working distance is 95mm.

Good things come in (2) different small packages. Our pocket microscopes are compact and perfect for a clear, close look at stamps, coins, flora, insects or assorted minutiae. The 30X version measures 5-3/4" x 1-5/8" x 3/4" in black plastic with a focus knob, on/off switch, small LED for illumination, and a vinyl carrying case. Requires (2) "AA"s. The 60X version is a microscopic 3-1/4" x 1-3/16" x 3/4" and has a built-in white LED illuminator powered by (3) coin-cell batteries that are included. Magnifies from 60-100X, with coarse- and fine-focus knobs, and has a vinyl carrying case.
